Renato was a rover. He played in the Richmond Seconds and Thirds with his identical twin brother, Lidio, before Lidio transferred to Coburg. Both brothers were members of the Richmond Under/19’s first Premiership team, in 1958.
Lidio also ran second in the 1958 “Morrish Medal” count finishing three votes behind the winner.
Renato missed the entire 1959 season due to injury before coming back to play with the seniors in 1960. He later transferred to VFA club Oakleigh. Renato now lives in Williamstown with his wife Dorothy and Lidio lives in Torquay with his wife Annette.
Renatos' son Peter Julian played in 4 premiership sides for Vermont in the Eastern football and another 4 with Clarence in the Tasmanian Football league in the 1990’s. He also represented Tasmania 3 times in an Interstate carnival and in interstate matches.
