BIOGRAPHY
Richard usually played in a key defensive role whilst at Richmond. Known as "Pres" he was a strong mark. A courageous player, he used his physical strength well, however his awkward kicking detracted from his game. He originally joined Richmond from Oakleigh in 1985. In his early reserves gamed he played as a key-forward. He won the Reserves Goal Kicking award in 1986 and once kicked 8 goals against Fitzroy. After six seasons with Richmond he moved to Warrnambool as playing-coach. He had an outstanding year and went on to win the Victorian Country Footballer of the Year award. He was tragically killed in a road accident in early 1992.
