BIOGRAPHY
Robert Powell played with North Heidelberg and was initially drafted by Collingwood with pick 64 in the 1994 AFL National Draft. At the end of the 1995 season Robert was traded to Richmond in exchange for Matthew Francis . Robert played his first senior game with Richmond in Round 15, 1996 against Melbourne. Robert a quick and small forward showed flashes of brilliance during the rest of the season with the highlight 5 goals in a win against Geelong . Robert had his best seasons with the Tigers in 1998 ( 18 games ) and 1999 ( 13 games ). He suffered a hip injury in 2000 and played 4 games .
Robert was delisted by Richmond at the end of 2000. He re-entered the draft system and was drafted by St Kilda in the 2000 AFL
National Draft.
