BIOGRAPHY
Rod was a left-foot, half-forward-flanker. He was a good mark and an opportunist when it came to scouting packs and making the most of his scoring opportunities. He originally joined Collingwood from the Marist Brothers College in Burnie and went on to win their Best First Year Player award in 1972. He crossed to Richmond after eight seasons with Collingwood and one with Claremont. He played well in his debut game for Richmond, kicking 4 goals against Melbourne. He then struggled with injuries and a lack of senior opportunities and later crossed to Williamstown before coaching Ainslie. Rod now works for Australian Customs and lives in the northern suburbs.
