BIOGRAPHY
Ron played most of his football as a rover. He was an outstanding schoolboy footballer, who went from the Richmond Thirds to the Seniors in one season. His only senior game was against Collingwood at Victoria Park in Round 13 of 1961. He left Richmond in 1962 and played with Coburg and Mordialloc, before coaching Doveton and Pearcedale. In 1968 he missed the entire season due to suspension. Ron now works in the Hotel Trade. His is the father of Craig O'Brien who played 19 games with Essendon between 1989 and 1991, and then played with St. Kilda between 1992 and 1995 before joining the Swans in 1996.
