BIOGRAPHY
Rupert was a centreman and half-forward. He was a tough player who took a strong mark. He spent one season with Richmond where he played his four senior games in the last four rounds of 1922. He then played VFA and VFL football with Footscray before spending the rest of his career in the country. He was a very successful and popular coach during his time at Bairnsdale, where he led them to consecutive Premierships. Rupert was also a professional runner who won the Wangaratta Gift and finished fifth in a Stawell Gift Final. His brothers, Leonard and Percy, both played VFL football.
