BIOGRAPHY
Stan played most of his football at centre-half-forward. He served in the Army between 1942 and 1944 and joined Sandringham after the war. He quickly established himself, winning the VFA's Best and Fairest "Liston Trophy" in only his second season in 1947. He joined Richmond in 1948 and made a promising start before injuries took their toll. He made his debut for Richmond in Round 1 of 1948 against South Melbourne. In his second and third games he kicked 4 goals against Footscray and St. Kilda. He also kicked 5 goals against Melbourne in Round 15. That game was his second last before he was injured. After retiring from football he umpired for 15 years. Stan now lives in the southern suburbs.
