BIOGRAPHY
Stuart is a key-position forward who stood out in the lead-up to the 1992 season. He kicked 5 second-half goals during a night game against the then reigning premier Hawthorn. He is a strong mark, long accurate left-foot kick and a good lead. During his debut season, 1992, he played to several positions including ruck, full-forward and centre-half-back. He finished the year winning the Best First Year Player award. In 1991 he was the last player to win the old Under/19 Competition Goalkicking award with a total of 76, which included 10 against the Sydney Swans. He was hampered by leg injuries in 1993, which restricted him to a handful of reserves’ games. He regained his senior spot during 1994 and played several games, mainly coming off the interchange bench. In 1995 he formed part of a three pronged attack with Brendon GALE and Matthew RICHARDSON. He kicked a career best 5 goals against North Melbourne in Round 4 of 1995. Away from football he is a student teacher.
