BIOGRAPHY
Fisher was a strong, courageous ruck-rover who came to the Tigers as a result of serving with several Richmond players during the First World War. Fisher was in the A.I.F for the duration of World War One, firstly at Gallipoli and then in France, hence his nickname “ANZAC”. He was 'chief factotum' of the Brigade Team which also starred Checker Hughes.
In 1912 he received a permit from Northcote to Richmond, but did not play with Richmond until after the War. The League Permit and Umpire Committee accepted that Fisher had only played with teams whilst in France, and as such was eligible to play for Richmond on his return.
Fisher performed well in his debut for Richmond on the forward line and as a follower. "He made a favourable impression on the Richmond critics"
