BIOGRAPHY
Tom Roach is the son of former Richmond champion Michael Roach . Tom played juniors with Richmond Junior Football club ( RJFC ) up to U/15’s and then moved to Greythorn Falcons Football club . He was the first player from RJFC to play AFL football and has a “tackers” award named after him. Tom also played with Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup. Tom was drafted by Richmond with pick 37 overall in the 2003 AFL National Draft under the Father/Son rules. Tom, a midfielder played his first senior with Richmond in Round 4 , 2004 against Geelong playing 8 games for the season . Tom started his career with Guernsey number 22 at the start of 2005 bur Kane Pettifer passed his number 8 guernsey onto Tom , which was the number his father Michael wore . Kane moved to number 15. Tom played 2 senior games in 2005 and 1 game in 2006. Unable to secure a place in the senior team Richmond delisted Tom at the end of 2006.
