BIOGRAPHY
Ty was a ruckman and the tallest player ever to play for Richmond. In his first season at Richmond, 1989, he won the Under/19 Best and Fairest award and was a member of their Premiership side. He slowly worked his way up from the Under/19 team and showed promise, despite several setbacks. He was a strong mark and fine palmer of the ball although his kicking let him down at times. His 1993 season got off to a promising start during the pre-season, before a work accident forced him to miss several games. He was left off the Richmond list at the end of the 1993 season. In 1994 he played with VFA club Frankston where he ran second in their Best and Fairest award. Ty spent 1995 with Tatura where he tied with former Richmond teammate Simon EISHOLD in the Competition Best and Fairest award the “Morrison Medal’. He was also a member of Tatura’s first Premiership side since 1953. He works as a carpenter.
