BIOGRAPHY
Wayne was recruited from Essex Heights and played as a half-back, or half-forward-flanker. He was a strong mark, had good ball skills and was a fine kick to position. Unfortunately he was troubled by persistent knee injuries which resulted in his retirement from the game at the age of 27. He is now involved with the Old Haileybury Football Club. An accountant, he is the grandson of James Shand.
